Tools & Softwares: CINEMA 4D, Photoshop
This American Life is a weekly public radio show broadcast on more than 500 stations to about 2.2 million listeners. This project is a teaser promo title sequence project for Episode #360: Switched at Birth. On a summer day in 1951, two baby girls were born in a hospital in a small town called Wisconsin. The infants were accidentally switched, and went home with the wrong families. One of the mothers realized the mistake but chose to keep quiet. Until the day, more than 40 years later, when she decided to tell both daughters what happened. My interpretation of this specific episode focuses on "Identity". As we know, our last names define which families we belong to. When we are filling forms that need identity be provided, we have to write our full name, which includes our last names. In this story, two women were switched at birth. In other words, the last names they supposed to have are not the last names they are having right now. So I chose birth certifications as visual elements to show how their identities been "switched".
